Editor:

We have all read far too many letters to the editor on how the well-to-do locals are being inconvenienced by train horns.

Such problems we all have.

We, too, live near Crescent Beach and, yes, we hear train horns, as well. I do not feel the need to complain about this. I know the train operators are doing their very best to perform their challenging job in the safest manner.

There are still many people who are ignorant to the dangers of being on or near the active tracks, and our tracks are very active. The whistles are being blown to alert distracted people. Do you ever consider the lasting psychological effects on the train operator who did everything he could to stop the train this summer, only to strike the teen on the track?

I know when I hear the extra train whistles in the night that the operator may be trying to clear the tracks. I do not think of my inconvenience, nor should you.

Stop your complaining.
