A couple of days ago, I was pushing my wheelchair-bound, halo-encased sister up the slight incline from Al Hogg Pavilion, where she is recovering from a seriously fractured neck – hence the immobilizing halo – to the entrance of Peace Arch Hospital.

Having difficulty with that slope, I was thrilled when a young man came up to me and asked if he could help. Both Sonja and I guessed that he was a local high school student and were very impressed with his offer and pleasant disposition.

So, yes, teenagers today are as great as they’ve always been, and we would publicly like to thank this young man for his kindness.
