Too many townhouses
Editor:
When will the City of Surrey stop approving all of these development proposals for townhomes?
We have a serious problem when elementary schools, such as Cambridge Elementary in the Sullivan Heights area, are bursting at the seams, yet the city keeps approving new developments.
Surrey is overcrowded and there is no room to breathe in these once-beautiful areas. It saddens me to see all the green space being cut down.
Yes, there is a new elementary school being built in Sullivan Heights, but it is already full because of all the development. There is literally no room to park in the streets in some areas, not to mention there will not be much shade left in the summertime.
Don’t even get me started on multiple-tenant basement suites and coach homes… how these get approved is beyond me!
We don’t need townhome complexes on every street corner. It is time to lay down some boundaries and stop approving houses being built on top of houses, to keep our city beautiful.
