Re: A sign of passion over Whaling Wall, April 22.

Your description of the Whale Wall as the Whaling Wall offends me deeply.

The wall depicts a pod of whales swimming in the ocean. Whaling is the industry of the hunting and killing of massive numbers of whales.

If you like the word, make it a little more realistic. Paint a boat with a whaler about to launch a harpoon at the largest whale.

Let our whales swim on freely, unmenaced, even by the word whaling.
