Ultimate Day set for Sunday
Frisbees will fly at South Surrey Athletic Park this weekend, when the Surrey Ultimate League hosts its annual Ultimate Day.
The event will run 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Sunday, May 8, at the athletic park, and will give interested players – of any age – a chance to learn more about the growing sport. Surrey Ultimate League players will teach clinics, which will cover basic skills such as throwing, to advanced tips about difference offensive and defensive techniques.
Now two years old, the Surrey Ultimate League has grown to include 150 "disc jockeys" from throughout the city.
The league's summer drop-in program, which runs Tuesdays 8-10 p.m. from May to September at Newton Athletic Park (7395 128 St.), begins next week, as does summer league play.
The summer league plays on Sundays, 6-8:30 p.m., at South Surrey Athletic Park, from May until August.
