Surrey Eagles, Chiefs get set for Round 2
A longtime Mainland Division rivalry is set to be renewed.
Starting tonight (Friday), the Surrey Eagles and Chilliwack Chiefs will face off in the second round of BC Hockey League playoffs. The best-of-five series begins at South Surrey Arena for Games 1 and 2 – the second contest hits the ice tomorrow – before the series shifts to Chilliwack for the next two games.
The Eagles advanced to the Coastal Conference semifinal series after dispatching the Langley Rivermen 3-1 in the first round, while the Chiefs moved into the second round after edging past the Prince George Spruce Kings in five games.
Puck drop for Games 1 and 2 is 7 p.m. at South Surrey Arena.
