The White Rock Renegades' senior team is looking to recover from a flattening opening weekend, and will face Mexico on Tuesday at Softball City.

The Renegades are 0-2 at this year's Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship. The hosts dropped their first two games, 3-1 to the Bloomington Lady Hearts on Saturday and 14-2 to the NJCAA All-Stars on Sunday.

Things won't get any easier for the Renegades from here on out. They face Team Mexico on Tuesday at 3:30 in South Surrey. They then face Basque Country (from Spain) on Thursday before going through a gauntlet of international teams.

White Rock will face Team Japan, Team USA, and then Team Canada to close out their round robin play.

It's the first year the Renegades' senior team is playing in the top women's bracket at the Canadian Open. Although they have played international teams in the tournaments' playoffs in past years, the groups are normally split into Women's International and Women's Elite, where the Renegades have historically resided.
