The Holy Cross Crusaders have advanced to the semifinal round of the BC Boys 4A provincial tournament at the Langley Events Centre.

The Holy Cross Crusaders are a game away from playing for a B.C. championship.

The Crusaders upended the Vancouver College Fighting Irish 99-86 in overtime yesterday (Thursday) in the quarterfinal round of the B.C. Senior 4A Boys High School Basketball Championships at the Langley Events Centre.

Holy Cross will tip-off against the one-seed Walnut Grove Gators in the first of two semifinal games tonight (Friday). The two-seed and defending champion Kelowna Owls will face the three-seed Oak Bay Bays in the second semifinal.

Uyi Ologhola scored 37 points for the five-seed Crusaders against the four-seed Fighting Irish.

Holy Cross placed eighth at the provincial tournament year ago. The lowest they can place this year would be fourth.

In consolation play, the Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers and Semiahmoo Totems were both winners yesterday. The Panthers topped the North Peace Oscars of Fort St. John and will play the Handsworth Royals today, while the Totems topped Cranbrook's Mt. Baker Wild 99-32 to advance to a game today against the Belmont Bulldogs.
