A historic rivalry was renewed Saturday between the White Rock Amateur Swimming Association and the Crescent Beach Swimming Club.
For the first time in 40 years, members from the swim clubs competed for the Semiahmoo Cup.
The friendly competition started at approximately 8:45 a.m. with swimmers relaying from the starting point in Crescent Beach to the Crescent Beach pier. After that leg was completed, competitors relayed from the pier to Crescent Beach Swimming Club’s outdoor pool where swimmers took turns racing 25-m sprints.
