The Shops at Morgan Crossing in South Surrey will be celebrating a one-year anniversary by holding a fall festival Sept. 17.

The Shops at Morgan Crossing in South Surrey will be celebrating a one-year anniversary by holding a fall festival Sept. 17.

Activities planned for the day-long event include street performers, musical acts, face painting, interactive crafts, pony rides and a pancake breakfast.

“Our first anniversary festivities are very much a celebration of the amazing residents of South Surrey and White Rock,” said Leigh Ann Smith, events co-ordinator for the shops.

“Over the past year, The Shops has breathed new life into the Morgan Heights area of South Surrey. We’ve grown substantially thanks to the tremendous support of this great community.”

The development – which contains about 500,000 square feet of retail and commercial space at 15765 Croydon Dr. – has played host a number of popular community events in the past year, including spring and summer skating events and a free outdoor movie series.

The pancake breakfast will be outside London Drugs from 8-11 a.m., while the Main Street celebration begins at noon and runs until 4 p.m.
