Choices Markets served up more than hot dogs at a recent barbecue fundraiser in South Surrey.
The event, which raised nearly $300 for Friends of Semiahmoo Bay Society, is earmarked to support restoration of the Nicomekl River estuary, which is home to herring, sand lance and surf smelt.
FoSBS president Margaret Cuthbert said the boost “really makes a difference for us, for the educational programs.”
