Food bank program gets $10,000 boost

To date, nearly $368,000 and 60,000 pounds of food has been generated through The Full Cupboard Program

A program that aims to raise food, funds and awareness for food banks in the Lower Mainland – including South Surrey – has received a $10,000 boost towards its efforts.

Envision Financial announced the donation to The Full Cupboard Program from Concentra’s emPOWERING Your Communities campaign last week.

Envision launched The Full Cupboard program in 2013, committing to raise at least $1 million and 100,000 pounds of food over 10 years.

To date, nearly $368,000 and 60,000 pounds of food has been generated.

The emPOWERING campaign launched in 2011. According to Concentra president and CEO Ken Kosolofski, it enables the company to invest in multiple credit-union-supported initiatives.

On the Semiahmoo Peninsula, beneficiaries of funds raised through The Full Cupboard include Sources White Rock/South Surrey Food Bank.

Donations of non-perishable food items or cash can be made at any Envision Financial branch. In South Surrey, it is located at 3061 152 St. For more info, visit http://www.foodbanksbc.com/get-involved/thefullcupboard/
