Hilltop Medical manager to address walk-in clinic conference

Yvonne McLeod is to give the opening address at a walk-in clinic conference in Burnaby tomorrow.

The manager of South Surrey's Hilltop Medical Clinic is among featured speakers at a conference on walk-in clinics being held today (Friday) in Burnaby.

Yvonne McLeod will join former B.C. health minister George Abbott and College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C.'s Dr. Galt Wilson as a keynote speaker at the inaugural conference.

McLeod is to give an opening address entitled Walk-in Clinics: A Very Valuable Service.

According to a news release, McLeod has four decades of experience in the health and medical sectors, including 19 years in the medical-laboratory field and seven years in medical distribution and management. She has been a medical-clinic manager since 2000, and currently oversees 15 general practitioners and more than 20 staff at Hilltop.

Other topics on the agenda include hidden demographic trends in B.C.; the past, present and future of walk-in clinics; and aspects of the Medical Services Plan.
