Finalists in the 2013 South Surrey and White Rock Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards have been announced.
The ceremony, Jan. 30 at Hazelmere Golf & Tennis Club, will honour businesses in various categories.
In the category for one to seven employees, finalists are Lifelong Health, New Beauty Institute and Common Cent Bookkeeping & Tax.
Peninsula Runners, Singer Olfert Financial Group and Ocean Promenade Hotel are nominated in the eight to 14 employee category.
In the category for businesses with 15 or more employees are Westminster Savings Credit Union, White Rock Veterinary Hospital, Investors Group and Hugh & McKinnon Realty Ltd.
Nominated for New Business of the Year are Jan’s on the Beach, Brabeia Inc. and 23Seven Performance & Conditioning Studio.
Individuals honoured at the awards include Douglas Charles of Penguin Meat Supply, John A. Makepeace of Jade West Engineering Co. Ltd. and Alan Schill of Schill Insurance in the Business Person, Self-Owned category; and Karen Donald of The Shops at Morgan Crossing, Michael Stuart of Hazelmere Golf & Tennis Club and Greg Timm of Pacific Customs Brokers for Business Person, Corporate.
Non-profit organizations nominated include Sources, White Rock South Surrey Hospice Society and the Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary Society.
