Senior Come Share Society honoured

Semiahmoo Peninsula organization recognized for work in community

Senior Come Share Society has been recognized by Simon Fraser University for its volunteer services in the community.

The SFU Gerontology Leadership award was presented to the society Nov. 15 at the  university’s Vancouver campus.

The award is for organizations whose “contribution of time and experience provides exemplary voluntary service, as a whole, in the community,” according to a news release from the society.

The society provides a number of services and supports for seniors and their families, including the Senior Connector  and the Friendly Visitor programs.
