A group of local boy Scouts are planning to mark Canada’s birthday by recreating a little piece of history.

Members of the 10th White Rock Scout Group will gather in the newly completed breezeway at the renovated White Rock Museum and Archives at 10 a.m. Friday, for a photo reminiscent of one taken of several pioneer families on Dominion Day (July 1), 1921.

The recreation is to coincide with the Canada Day sneak peak at the museum’s revitalized digs, which have been restored to the 1913 train-station design.

Much like the original photo, Friday’s shoot will also include a local politician.

Surrey-White Rock MLA Gordon Hogg will take a spot in the group’s back row.
