Local cadets have their eyes on the skies this summer, as two of 36 B.C. teens chosen to train for their private pilot’s licence.
Warrant Officers Janko Rogan and Ryan Bosley – both members of the 907 White Rock Squadron – were both accepted to the seven-week course on scholarship. Training on a Cessna 172, the pair have already logged their first solo flights.
Rogan is earning his wings at the Pacific Flying Club in Boundary Bay; Bosley is at Montair Aviation in Pitt Meadows.
If all goes well, they will receive their cadet pilot wings and Transport Canada private pilot licences on Aug. 19.
