Photo contest benefitting BC SPCA's Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre

A photography contest aimed at raising funds for the care of injured and orphaned wildlife closes this weekend.

Open to backyard and amateur photographers aged 14 and older, proceeds ($5 per entry) will benefit the BC SPCA’s Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre, which cares for more than 2,000 animals every year.

Prizes in the Wildlife-In-Focus Photography Contest include a Velbon Sherpa Tripod (valued at $110) and two Aero 70 camera backpacks (valued at $70 each); Vortex binoculars (valued at $159); and magazine subscriptions.

Prizes are be awarded for the top three photos in each of two categories: Wild Settings and Backyard Habitats. Last year’s winners included Surrey resident Richard Coulson, who won second place in Backyard Settings.
