City marks Move for Health

White Rock marking Move for Health Day with activities

The City of White Rock is marking Move for Health Day with activities aimed at encouraging residents to get out and get moving.

The May 10 plans include an opportunity for residents to walk with their doctors and hike with a city councillor.

Things get underway at 12:15 p.m. at the Centennial Park running track (14600 North Bluff Rd.), where doctors and patients can stroll and chat, at an event hosted by the White Rock-South Surrey Division of Family Practice.

From 2-4 p.m., there’ll be demonstrations, fitness activities, health, nutrition and fitness guidance, and healthy snacks at the Centre for Active Living, located just south of the track.

Those interested in going for a walk with White Rock Mayor Wayne Baldwin are invited to meet at the CAL at 5:30 p.m.

At the same time, Coun. Larry Robinson will lead a trail hike through Duprez Ravine.

The day wraps up with a free family zumba dance party at the Centre for Active Living, from 6-7 p.m.
