Cloverdale Market Days returns Saturday, Sept. 16 for the final date of 2023.

After four successful markets this year, Paige Hardy wants to thank the community for all their support.

“We are thrilled that our community showed up to support us again this season,” said Hardy, president of the Cloverdale Arts & Entertainment Association (CAEA), the organization that puts on Cloverdale Market Days. “We had a record number of vendors apply and we definitely saw an increase in foot traffic at all our markets.”

Despite a heat wave, the event saw record attendance at the last market in August.

“As you know our association is a not-for-profit, our board of directors volunteer their time to make sure this event is a success,” Hardy added. “We are passionate about marketing the arts and this community and feel that our market/festival is a great way to provide the city of Surrey, and beyond, a snapshot of our historical community, our friendliness, our talents.”

As a not-for-profit, if money is left over after all the bills are paid, it’s directly donated to community groups. Hardy said they always give proceeds away (any money from vendor booth rentals) to other non-profits that attend their events.

“Last market we had the non-profit community youth group, 3rd Cloverdale Scouts, attend and they were raising money for an upcoming jamboree,” explained Hardy. “All the little scouts were so friendly and engaging.”

Hardy said CAEA will be writing 3rd Cloverdale Scouts a cheque from the association as a donation towards their efforts to fundraise for their jamboree.

“We also learned that the Cloverdale Country Market, who has attended all four markets so far, are very community minded,” noted Hardy. “At the end of each market, they take all their unsold fruits and vegetables directly to the Cloverdale Community Kitchen as a donation to that amazing cause.”

Hardy urged all to come down to the last market of the season, which promises a full assortment of local musical talent, great artisans and vendors, face painters and balloon twisters, and has something for everyone.

Cloverdale Market Days is the largest open-air market in Surrey and one of the largest in the Lower Mainland.

“This is a great community event and as usual is well-attended and we thank everyone for their continued support.”

Cloverdale Market Days can be found on both Instagram and Facebook.

Market Days runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on each festival day and is hosted in downtown Cloverdale on 176th Street between 56A Avenue and 58th Avenue.
