Drones eyeing Cloverdale

Racing league holding major competition at the Agriplex on Nov. 27

The West Coast Drone Racing League, Vancouver’s premier first person view drone racing organizer, is hosting their 2016/2017 winter indoor series on Nov. 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Cloverdale Agriplex, 17798 62 Ave.

The season opener is expected to be a highly charged day, introducing this new international sport to the Lower Mainland for the first time.

This event will bring together the best racers from across the Lower Mainland, as well as three of the best racers in the country, Erick Milewski, Andrew Meyer and Paul Baur from Team Canada, who just recently competed in the World Championships at the Kualoa Ranch in Oahu, Hawaii.

They will demonstrate their skills as they compete throughout the indoor series events toward the indoor championships to be held next spring.

The event will be safe for spectators new to the sport and fans alike.

The Cloverdale venue will also provide a concession and beer garden, as well as 50/50 tickets, door prizes and more.

Spectator admission is $10 at the door (cash only), with children under 12 free.
