This summer, Surrey's DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society will be holding free "empowerment camps" for children and youth.
Sessions will cover a variety of topics, including how to identify and express emotions; healthy ways to express feelings of anger; self-esteem; conflict resolution, substance abuse, ant-bullying and more.
Through each camp, there will be presentations and daily fun activities. Snacks and lunch are also provided.
Two Monday-to-Thursday camps are scheduled. The first is set to run from July 16-19, and the second from July 23-26. Both camps run from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily.
Campers will be divided into age groups, with the youngest group – for those aged three to five – taking part from 10 a.m. until noon.
Camps will be held at George Vanier Elementary (6985 142 St.). To register, call 604-597-0205, ext. 1202, or email prai@dcrs.ca or efawcett@dcrs.ca
