A fling of sandpipers moving in sync over the waters off Blackie Spit in Crescent Beach Saturday caught the attention of photographer Corry Kriticos.

The mesmerizing visual for waterfront visitors continued for about 20 minutes, Kriticos told Peace Arch News.

More than a few of the seabirds are likely to be logged on Dec. 29, when this year’s Christmas Bird Count – used to help study the health of winter bird populations – is to take place locally.
