It’s the best season of the year — hockey season — and the Surrey Eagles are winning where it counts: with their fans.

A sell-out crowd of 600 filled The Nest for the Eagles home opener Oct. 8, and attendance numbers have stayed high throughout October.

“We want to say a huge thank you to our fans. They’ve supported us through thick and thin, through all the challenges of last season, and have come out in full force this year,” says Cole Marton, play-by-play broadcaster and Director of Sales and Marketing for the Surrey Eagles.

And now fans have even more reason to celebrate — the South Surrey Arena is back to full capacity. Retro Night on Oct. 29 was the Eagles’ first opportunity to play for a full house, adding more emotion to an exciting night. Fans got to see the Surrey Eagles retro jerseys for the first time, honouring 50 years of BCHL, and enjoyed a look back at the many times when the Eagles were on top of the league.

“We’re so excited to be able to fill our building up with our fans,” says Blaine Neufeld, General Manager of the Surrey Eagles. “Our fans have been awesome in supporting us through these tough times, and we can’t wait to bring a great atmosphere back into the building to show people how much we want to give back to our community.”

Putting on a show for the fans

The Eagles are excited to put on a great show for their fans, both on the ice and in the stands. When you bring family or friends to the game, you can expect plenty of opportunities to get involved including Chuck-a-Puck, Shoot-to-Win and other trivia and contests.

And don’t forget the pretty impressive show Jake Bongo and the rest of the Eagles piece together night after night.
