Former MLA and attorney general of B.C. Geoff Plant will be at the White Rock Community Centre (15154 Russell Ave.) this month to speak on ‘heart-mind learning.’
The Feb. 28 event is sponsored by the White Rock/Surrey chapter of the Canadian Federation of University Women.
Plant, a lawyer, is currently chair of the board of trustees for the Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education.
Heart-mind learning is described as a new approach to education that balances core subjects such as math and science with life skills such as personal and social responsibility, according to a news release.
Plant is to speak about what it means for families, schools and communities.
