Library offers youth-focused programs

Surrey Public Library invites teens to try out their fall activities.

Surrey Public Library is offering a bevy of programs for teens this fall.

Teen writers are invited to share their ideas with like-minded peers at the Teen Writers' Circle, held at the City Centre and Ocean Park libraries; teen book clubs – touted as a great place to make friends – are offered at the City Centre, Fleetwood and Ocean Park Libraries.

For youth looking to earn volunteer hours, the Teen Advisory Group offers opportunity to plan and develop teen programs, give feedback on the library's teen collections and more. Becoming a reading buddy is another volunteer opportunity.

Gamers in Grade 6 and higher can get their Xbox fix at the City Centre, Guildford and Port Kells libraries, where video games can be played on a big screen.
