From bottle feeding a newborn raccoon through the night to saving a coyote with a pail stuck on its head, it’s all in a life’s work for staff and interns at Critter Care Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.
Every day is something new from retrieving two beavers covered in motor oil to trying to save several raccoons stuck in leg traps — the caring people at Critter Care are currently caring for hundreds of orphaned wildlife.
The year 2017 has been a challenging one for the Langley rescue centre and now is your chance to help them and get a little Christmas shopping done while you are at it. They have had to build enclosures and one of their trucks used for rescues and pick ups was involved in a crash.
Critter Care is hosting its annual Christmas Shopping fundraiser Dec. 11 to 22. everyday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the centre at 481 216 Street.
Stock up on Critter Care socks, clothing, Christmas cards and calendars and a whole lot more.
Recently, the scale they use to weigh all the animals that come into the centre has broken. To replace it is over $500. But it’s a much-needed item.
Shopping at Critter Care will help them get another scale.
