Effective Jan. 6, 2025, David MacIntyre is the new president and CEO of Sources Community Resource Centres.

There's a new David in town.

Officials with Sources Community Resource Centres announced this month that David MacIntyre will be stepping into the role of president and chief executive officer in the new year, taking over the helm from David Young, who is retiring in January after 17 years with the organization.

Young successfully merged five separate agencies under the Sources banner, creating a "more comprehensive and holistic response to community needs," a news release states.

MacIntyre, it continues, "will lead the social services agency into its next chapter of growth."

MacIntyre previously served in CEO positions at Phoenix Society and MPA Society, and has "extensive insight" into the social services landscape, it continues, citing a specialty in mental health, substance use, housing and community living that "will be invaluable in continuing the agency's mission to serve the vulnerable population."

Board chair Adrianna Spyker said MacIntyre's well-rounded background and strong dedication to community service "make him an ideal leader for our organization."

MacIntyre – a recipient of awards including the Meritorious Service Medal from the Governor General of Canada – will oversee Sources' strategic direction, operations and growth initiatives. He'll also serve as president and CEO of Sources Foundation.

He said in the news release that he is "honoured" to join the team.

"By working together, we will strengthen and empower communities, meeting the varied needs of our clients to enhance their quality of life."
