Our People, Our Peninsula: a celebration of those who’ve gone above and beyond

Do you know a person, group or business whose special efforts deserve recognition?

The last 12 months have been challenging by any measure.

Over the past year, many residents and business people on the Semiahmoo Peninsula have seen their lives – and livelihoods – thrown into disarray by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the challenges that individuals, businesses and community groups have faced, the people of White Rock and South Surrey have continued to step up, going to great lengths to help one another in whatever ways they can.

On April 29, through its ‘Our People, Our Peninsula’ pages, Peace Arch News will pay tribute to those who have gone “above and beyond” the call of duty.

Do you know someone who has gone the extra mile to help out a neighbour during an especially difficult time? Perhaps you’re thinking of a frontline worker, a volunteer, a coach or a businessperson who’s made a difference in the community.

It may be that their special efforts are not related to COVID-19 – we’d like to hear about these folks, too.

If you can think of someone – be they an individual, a group or team, or a local business – who’ve made an extraordinary effort, please submit their name to PAN, and briefly explain why you think they’re deserving of some special recognition.

Email the information to: ritika.sharma@peacearchnews.com

Please include your contact information and, if possible, the contact information of the person, group or business you are putting forward, along with a photograph.

Deadline for submissions is Monday, March 15.
