OWL opens doors

An organization dedicated to rehabilitating injured birds of prey will open its doors to the public this weekend.

The Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society’s open house takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (April 30 and May 1), offering visitors a rare behind-the-scenes look at the facility and its charges.

The open house is OWL’s primary fundraiser.

Proceeds will help the organization continue to operate.

This weekend’s events are free, and include an opportunity to tour the facility’s medical room, meet birds used to help educate the public, raffles and more.

Those present at 1 p.m. each day can witness the release of a bald eagle.

OWL is located at 3800 72 St.
