The significance at White Rock’s Totem Plaza holds strong in the wake of Dec. 20 windstorm damage

Following dramatic damage to White Rock’s iconic pier – caused by a Dec. 20 windstorm – White Rock photographer Geoffrey Yue captured the bright colours and historic significance of Semiahmoo Bay’s Indigenous background at Totem Plaza.

The two totem poles – ‘The Gift’ – were carved to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the RCMP, and were raised in East Beach in 1999.
