White Rock community policing volunteers are featured in these photos which took first (left) and second place in a contest marking National Volunteer Week.

Picture perfect

Two photos capturing White Rock community policing volunteers in action have won top spots in a contest marking National Volunteer Week.

One depicting volunteers at the detachment’s bike rodeo won first place; another, of volunteers helping out on Canada Day, came second.

Program co-ordinator Julia Everett learned of the impressive finishes last week. She submitted around nine photos taken of volunteers during events in 2010.

The photo win means a new camera for the detachment, plus water bottles for each of the volunteers, Everett said.
