Earl Marriott Secondary students, police and Semiahmoo First Nation officials cleaned up East Beach last week.

The April 28 effort was organized by CN Police and proposed to the students, who pitched in for 2.5 hours to help remove litter alongside the tracks. Train traffic was suspended for the duration of the work.

Nearly three dozen high school students were involved.
