Peace Arch Hospital and Community Health Foundation is encouraging community members to get a running start on their health, by committing to the National Bank Financial Great Pumpkin Run/Walk.
The fundraiser is set for Oct. 21 at Peace Arch Hospital, offering participants the choice of pacing either a five- or one-kilometre route.
Organizers hope to raise $75,000 for the hospital's emergency ward.
The event is to include a health fair with activities and food samples. There's also incentive prizes for those who raise $100 or more for the cause. And, all participants who raise $500 or more will be entered into a draw for a his-and-hers bicycle package donated by Peninsula Cycles.
