More than a dozen White Rock RCMP officers and volunteers rolled up their sleeves to donate blood last month, and now they’re challenging their peers to do the same.
“What have you got?” Const. Janelle Shoihet said, in a friendly message to other detachments.
A total of 17 officers and volunteers attended the Canadian Blood Services’ clinic April 24, as part of a drive that was organized because “everybody needs to do their part,” Shoihet said.
“If we can do something to save a life…”
Shoihet noted a number of those who turned out already donate blood on a regular basis; the group as a whole constituted a sizable portion of the detachment’s entire membership.
She called on other detachments to meet or beat the percentage turnout within the next six months.
