Those looking to take part in this spring's White Rock/South Surrey Relay for Life still have time to take advantage of early bird registration.
Participants who register before Feb. 7 will be eligible for a reduced entrance fee of $10 for the eighth annual event, which is to be held June. 24 at Centennial Park in benefit of the Canadian Cancer Society.
"We are inviting past participants, new participants, cancer survivors and anyone else in the community to join us and get involved with the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life," said cancer survivor and organizer Diana Beglaw. "You can sign up as an individual, a team captain or as a team member or as an event-day volunteer; everyone is welcome."
The relay involves teams of up to 15 people taking turns walking around a track for 12 hours or more.
To date, the Peninsula has raised more than $600,000 through the relay. So far, more than 10 teams have registered for this year's event.
