River regatta

Nicomekl Rowing Club is hosting a regatta on the river Saturday.

Head of the River 2011 events kick off 10:15 a.m. Sept. 17 at Blackie Spit in Crescent Beach, and spectators are encouraged and welcomed, said Helen Midwood.

“It’s quite fun to come out and watch… as they round the corner,” Midwood said.
