One of the Semiahmoo Peninsula’s Rotary clubs is undergoing big changes.
The Rotary Club of White Rock Millennium has officially changed its name to the Rotary Club of South Surrey.
“We’ve dealt with some confusion with other clubs, and we wanted to solve that problem, but we also think that this better defines the area that we serve,” said Joanne Taylor, the club’s director of public relations.
The club will now service the southern portion of Surrey and White Rock.
“The club is expanding and South Surrey is expanding, so this name is a better reflection of who we are,” Taylor said.
While the name has changed, the motivation behind the club remains the same.
“We’re like-minded individuals helping people in need in our community and internationally.”
The club meets 7 a.m. Wednesdays at the Pantry Restaurant, 101-1812 152 St. Rotarians and guests are all invited to join.
