Semiahmoo House hosts Futures event

Latest information on Registered Disability Savings Plan program to be shared Oct. 29 in South Surrey.

People planning for the future of a loved one with a disability are invited to an information fair set for 5-7 p.m. Oct. 29 at Semiahmoo House Society in South Surrey.

The 'Futures' event aims to share the latest information on the Registered Disability Savings Plan program through professionals and the opportunity to network with others facing similar issues.

The RDSP is a long-term savings plan that helps Canadians with disabilities and their families save for the future. According to event organizers, however, many people don't take advantage of the program because the application process is complicated.

Professionals who can help with the process will be on-hand at the Oct. 29 fair, which has been organized by the Semiahmoo Foundation.

Semiahmoo House Society is located at 15306 24 Ave. To register, email c.bajwa@shsbc.ca, call 604-536-1242, ext. 247, or visit https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/futures-tickets-18766284462
