This Saturday, Feb. 11, be sure to drop by Kent Street Activity Centre for the return of our annual Book Sale fundraiser. All proceeds from the sale will go to support the Centre’s programs and seniors in the community. Due to the overwhelming amount of donations we are no longer accepting further book donations. • Drop by Kent Street Activity Centre next Monday, Feb. 13, 1-3:30 p.m. to participate in an engaged conversation about poetry and active living in our community. The City of White Rock and Fraser Health are working on a new project celebrating connecting with culture while getting out, moving, and exploring our wonderful city. Share your favourite walking routes, key stops, and poems.
• Join us Monday, Feb. 20 at Centennial Arena for a free B.C. Family Day Skate. This skate is made possible thanks to the support of the B.C. government. • Dance your way to a fun lower-intensity workout with Latin-inspired music. Zumba Gold offers easy to foll ow choreography which focuses on balance, range of motion and co-ordination. Held at Kent Street Activity Centre Wednesdays or Fridays 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Call 604-541-2199 to register.
• Kent Street Activity Centre invites all Cribbage & Bid Whist players every Thursday from 1-3:15 p.m. in the auditorium. Newcomers are welcome to this small and inviting group. Pick up a three-visit guest pass and check us out before purchasing membership. Call 604-541-2231 for more information.
• Are you looking for a fun activity to join, get some exercise and meet some new friends? Then why not drop down to the Kent Street Activity Centre every Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m.-noon for some Carpet Bowling? Don’t worry if you have never played before. This friendly group will help you learn how to play the game. After Carpet Bowling enjoy a delicious lunch or snack in the Kent Street Coffee Shop. Call 604-541-2231 for more information.
• Where is the best place in White Rock to get a delicious home-cooked meal at an amazing, low price? Well, of course it is the Kent Street Coffee Shop. Drop in for lunch and enjoy a bowl of soup, sandwich or some delicious baked goods. If you feel like stocking up on some soups and meals, the kitchen has a variety of frozen meals for sale every Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. The coffee shop is open 9:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. Monday –Friday.
• If you enjoy dancing to live music with friends, visit the Kent Street Activity Centre every Wednesday from 7-9:30p.m. Tickets are available at the door. Feb. 15 enjoy music from Alpiners and Feb. 22, Don and Patrizia. Singles and couples 50-plus welcome.
