Many of the Kent Street Centre activity groups will be taking a short break during the holidays and will be returning the first week of January. Snooker, carpet bowling and table tennis will continue through the Christmas break. • Are you new to sewing or need a refresher? Learn everything about your sewing machine from threading it to how to identify tricky fabric to choosing the best sewing notions. • If you are still not comfortable coming back to an in-person recreation class, why not do some learning on Zoom? Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 25, join Sylvia Taylor for a six-week program on how to write engaging stories from your life memoirs to share with your family and friends. • Learn watercolour basics at the White Rock Community Centre. This fun and interactive evening class begins Tuesday, Jan. 18 and runs for eight weeks. Demonstrations, hands-on painting, individual feedback and an encouraging environment will support you in your skill development. • Don’t forget to visit the City of White Rock’s new winter lights display at the waterfront at Memorial Park. Bright Walk in White Rock runs until Feb. 15, 2022.
