Fall Registration for all White Rock Recreation and Culture programs is on now. To check out all the amazing things you can do, pick up a recreation guide at the Kent Street Activity Centre, White Rock Community Centre or Centennial Park Leisure Centre, or find it online at whiterockcity.ca/register. Classes fill up quickly so be sure to register soon as many classes begin the week of Sept. 12.
• Many of the Kent Street Centre Activity groups that have taken a summer break will be returning the week of Sept. 5. This includes the Wednesday Night Dances where you can drop in and dance to the fabulous sounds of a variety of live bands. Doors open at 6:30p.m. with dancing from 7 - 9:30 p.m. Sept. 7 is the Alpiners and Sept. 14 is Patrizia and Don.
• The Kent Street Choir will begin rehearsals next Tuesday, Sept. 6, from 9:30 - 11 a.m. Previous member and new ones are invited to join the “Choristers” in the auditorium where soprano, alto, tenor and bass voices blend to produce a full sound. A Christmas concert will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3. Remember you can drop in to any Kent Street Activity group including the Choristers three times as a guest before purchasing membership. • The Kent Street Activity Centre is offering a variety of computer classes for the beginner to the more advanced computer user. Classes are small to allow for more hands-on, individualized instruction. For those of you who prefer a larger group setting, the Computer Club begins to meet again on Sept. 14 at 12:30 p.m. This activity group meets weekly and includes presentations on a variety of computer related topics. Don’t forget to ask for your guest pass if it is your first time visiting the centre.
• Register now for “For The Health Of It” – a health and wellness event for seniors in the community on Saturday, Sept. 24, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the White Rock Community Centre. This event includes engaging speakers, a resource fair and the opportunity to try out some active programs such as a Seniors Ability Course, Yoga for Well-Being, Body Works and a Balance Class. The Kent Street Activity Centre will be closed on Monday, Sept. 5 for the Labour Day Holiday. The centre will re-open on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 8:30 a.m.
