SENIORS SCENE: Kent Street Players ready to take the stage Nov. 26, 27

White Rock recreation and culture guide will be online today (Nov. 25)

The Stitch and Chat Activity Group meets every Friday afternoon, 1-3 p.m. at the Kent Street Activity Centre. Bring along your latest knitting, quilting, crocheting or any craft project you are working on and enjoy a lovely afternoon with some new friends. Proof of vaccination is required when participating in White Rock Recreation and Culture programs and activity groups as well as masks must be worn in all public indoor spaces. Remember, you can drop in three times and try any activity group before becoming a paid member of the Centre. • The Winter 2022 White Rock Recreation and Culture program guide will be online today at whiterockcity.ca/register. Check out all the amazing programs and activities planned for the winter months and get ready to register on Monday, Nov. 29 at 8:30 a.m. Register online at whiterockcitiy.ca/register, by phone at 604-541-2199 or drop into Kent Street Activity Centre, White Rock Community Centre or Centennial Park Leisure Centre.

• The Kent Street Players Theatre group will perform three short plays on Friday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. in the auditorium at the Kent Street Activity Centre. Cost is only $10 and tickets can be purchased by phone at 604-541-2199 or in person at the Kent Street Activity Centre. Please remember that everyone 12 years and older must show proof that they are fully vaccinated. Masks are required.

• Continue to keep fit and healthy during the cold winter months by dropping in to a Fit Camp or Body Works 50+ class every Tuesday or Thursday, 9-10 a.m. at the White Rock Community Centre. Pre-registered drop-in is available seven days before each class online at whiterockcity.ca/register. Call 604-541-2199 for more information.

• Fridays are frozen meal sale days at the Kent Street Activity Centre. Nov. 26, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., pick up a variety of low-cost, nutritious and delicious frozen meals. For more information, please call 604-541-2199 or check out the City of White Rock’s website at www.whiterockcity/seniors prior to the sale day to see the menu for that day. The last day to purchase frozen meals before Christmas is Dec. 17.

• Are you missing Kent Street’s scrumptious cookies or one of the coffee shop’s tasty, freshly made sandwiches? Don’t forget that the Kent Street Activity Centre Coffee Shop has take- out sandwich service 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.

• The City of White Rock is holding a new winter lights display at the Waterfront at Memorial Park. Bright Walk in White Rock will run from Dec. 10 – Feb. 15, 2022.A special light up event will take place on Dec. 10 at 5 p.m. at Memorial Park and includes activities for all ages.

• Remember to support White Rock RCMP, White Rock Community Policing & Victim Services 4th Annual Children’s Clothing Drive at the White Rock Detachment (15299 Pacific Ave.) this Saturday, Nov. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to support local children and youth in need. New children and youth clothing is being requested as well as cash donations.
