White Rock Recreation and Culture membership for 2018 are on sale now.

Drop in to one of our recreation centres to purchase your membership or renew or purchase online if you have an account and PIN set up.

Once registered, you will have access to all of the activity groups at the Kent Street Activity Centre and you can enjoy early registration and discounted rates off registered programs found in the Winter White Rock Recreation Guide available at the centres beginning Nov. 15.

Bridge anyone?

White Rock Recreation and Culture hosts numerous bridge card-game groups at three recreation centres for all levels of play. For dates, times and locations pick up a Recreation and Culture Guide or call 604-541-2231 for more information.

Remember, you can try out one of our bridge groups or any other activity group three times before taking out membership.

The Kent Street Players present Aunt Cora’s Christmas Basket and Secret Santa on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 3 p.m. at the Kent Street Activity Centre.

Tickets are only $5 and light refreshments are included.

Listen to local authors present and discuss their book while at the same time enjoying a delicious lunch served in the Kent Street Coffee Shop.

The next presentation is on Monday, Nov. 6 at 12:45 p.m. Author Sylvia Taylor presents her latest book Beckoned by the Sea: Women at Work on the Cascadia Coast.

Hope to see everyone come down to the Kent Street Activity Centre’s annual general meeting on Monday, Nov. 27 at 2:30 p.m.

Activity reports will be presented and two members at large will be elected.

To add to this fun afternoon there will be complimentary refreshments, and a draw for a free one-year recreation and culture membership.

We are also excited to announce that Dr. Laugh – an internationally renowned speaker on humour and laughter – will show us why laughter really is the best medicine!

The Kent Street auditorium is open Wednesday evenings, 7-10 p.m., for all those 50+ who enjoy social dancing to live music.

On stage this week is the Silverstars. Purchase tickets at the door for only $6 members/$8 non members.; refreshments served midway.
