Shoppers find treasures, support Ukraine at Winter Fantasy Market in White Rock

Next Sunday last chance to check out fair featuring wares from 30 local vendors

The White Rock Elks Hall was busy with people shopping locally at the Winter Fantasy Market Sunday (Dec 11).

Featuring a variety of local vendors and causes, the event attracted shoppers of all ages looking for unique find or holiday gift.

A weekly occurrence from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., next Sunday (Dec. 18) will be the last one of the year that people can attend, noted photographer Moises Nivar, who sells photographs he takes in White Rock, South Surrey and around B.C.

“It’s a nice little touch of community,” he said, as his wife, Elena, chats with prospective photo purchasers.

“Everyone is very friendly and there’s a great variety.”

From handmade crafts and candles to clothing, jewelry, soap, stuffed animals, baked goods and more, there’s also a table featuring perogies, kielbasa and an assortment of blue and yellow bracelets, crafts and flags – a fundraiser to support Ukraine.
