The 2024 gift-wrapping station in Semiahmoo Shopping Centre raised more than $8,500 for Peace Arch Hospital.

An annual tradition that helps takes a load off of the holiday season for Christmas shoppers wrapped up another tidy sum for Peace Arch Hospital.

"This year we raised $8,566.31," Jeri Cox, marketing director for Semiahmoo Shopping Centre, said of donations collected at the annual Christmas Charity Gift Wrapping station.

It was the fourth year that proceeds from the volunteer-run, by-donation effort have been earmarked for the hospital, through Peace Arch Hospital Foundation.

The total was an eight per cent increase over that raised during the 2023 holiday wrap.

Cox thanked the "generous volunteers" who gave their time to help ensure the fundraiser's success.

"All the volunteers worked so hard, and we had so many people that came back again this year with their gifts to wrap," she said.
