A South Surrey car wash business is hoping an inaugural fundraiser benefiting the Surrey Christmas Bureau will make a splash this holiday season.
From Dec. 2-10, Express Auto Wash King George – located at 2337 King George Blvd. – is offering free Platinum-level car washes in exchange for donations for the Christmas bureau.
The bureau provides toys, stocking stuffers and grocery cards to assist low-income families in making the season bright. Last year, nearly 2,000 low-income families – including 4,500 children – benefited, and officials expect “through the roof” demand this year.

The Grand Splash Fundraiser “offers a unique opportunity to give back to the community and help families in need,” according to a post to the City of Surrey website.
Car wash officials describe the event as “our introduction to the South Surrey and White Rock communities.”
“100% of any contribution made during the Grand Splash Fundraiser goes a long way to helping the Surrey Christmas Bureau with its ongoing services,” information on the business’s website states.
“What a great way to give back to your community, by lending a hand to families in need.”
The car-wash facility – described as “environment-friendly,” through use of recycled water and a controlled metering system – is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
