Southridge School’s Serena Bonneville spoke to fellow students last Friday during a morning assembly about her journey with cancer.
The Grade 12 student was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia last October and has been chronicling her battle with cancer through her blog, Breeding Optimism.
In honour of Bonneville, a team of 24 cyclists made up of staff, teachers and friends took on the two-day Ride to Conquer Cancer last weekend.
So far, the Friends of Southridge Crew – which had Bonneville’s blog name on their red jerseys – have brought in nearly $80,000.
