Spring skate

For five days this month, families are invited to The Shops at Morgan Crossing for ice skating and activities on a state-of-the-art synthetic rink.

Spring Skate will be held daily from March 19 to 23  from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Skating is free of charge and skate rentals and sharpening are available by donation. Proceeds are to benefit the Canadian Cancer Society.

“Since we opened last September, The Shops at Morgan Crossing has quickly become a central meeting place and shopping destination in the Morgan Heights area of South Surrey,” marketing and events co-ordinator Leigh Ann Smith said in a release.

“We think the rink will be very popular and a great way for the community to come together, especially during March Break.”

The rink will be officially unveiled to the public by Surrey Couns. Mary Martin and Barinder Rasode at a ribbon-cutting ceremony March 19 at noon. Eagles mascot Winger will also be on hand to skate with kids.

The Shops At Morgan Crossing is located at 24 Avenue and Croydon Drive.
