Thirty preschoolers in Imagination Library have been sponsored thanks to fundraising efforts of the Rotary Club of White Rock.
The club donated $1,950 it collected through fundraisers such as its annual book sale (coming up Feb. 27 to March 7) and Lobsterfest (scheduled for May) to the literacy program, which is free to participating families and provides children with a new book every month until they turn five years old.
It was founded in 1996 by Dolly Parton, and has since been embraced by the Rotary Club of White Rock, Sources and the local Kiwanis club.
